First Responder To The First Responder
And The Community They Serve
No one is confronted with more situations that can demoralize and create emotional, mental and spiritual burdens than today’s police officer and firefighter. These burdens can affect not only the first-responder, but also their peers, their family and the community they serve. As a trained and ordained police and fire chaplain I understand the unique environment of both the police officer and firefighter, and with God’s help and by God’s grace am able to provide guidance, comfort, counseling, and assistance when called upon.
THE MISSION of Living Shield Ministries is multi-faceted:
Living Shield Ministries bears witness to the love and power of God to first responders everywhere, their families, non-sworn members of the department, and to the communities they serve by setting an example of the highest exemplary standards in conduct and behavior.
Living Shield Ministries is a ministry of presence, support and counsel to the men and women (sworn and non-sworn) of the Riverside Police Department and Riverside Fire Department, and their families, as well as the unfortunate victims of crime.
Living Shield Ministries provides chaplain services to assist the citizens of the city of Riverside in times of loss, confusion, depression, or grief due to a crisis situation in their life. This service extends to other cities and counties throughout the State of California and elsewhere when requested.
Living Shield Ministries provides emotional and spiritual support and intervention to all people regardless of race, sex, creed, or religion.
Living Shield Ministries provides education and training in the area of chaplaincy and crisis intervention to churches and businesses for the purpose of training up chaplains for community service and trauma response.
Living Shield Ministries provides chaplaincy services consisting of, but not limited to the following: response to line-of-duty-death, crisis intervention, grief counseling, family support, pastoral counseling, pastoral crisis intervention, death notifications, funerals and weddings.
Living Shield Ministries collaborates with other chaplain ministries throughout the United States in times of crisis when invited.
Living Shield Ministries desires to help comfort those who mourn, to weep with those who weep, and to help heal the brokenhearted, thus advancing the cause of Jesus Christ in the lives and hearts of all those with whom the ministry comes in contact.
